Chief Red Cloud

 

Crook County was established in 1875 named after General George Crook.  County Seat is Sundance named from the Sundance Mountains. Crook County is home to the National Monument Devils Tower.  The acclaimed Harry Longabaugh, convicted of being a horse thief and sentenced to 18 months in the county jail, received his outlaw title the Sundance Kid.
